Who's Covered? A Guide to Understanding the Mount Prospect Landlord and Tenant Regulations
The Mount Prospect Residential Landlord and Tenant Regulations is a law for tenants and landlords in Mount Prospect.
Am I covered under this law?
Almost all rental units in Mount Prospect are included (including mobile homes and subsidized units).
The following are not covered:
- Residence at a public or private medical, geriatric, educational, religious, nursing or retirement institution.
- Hotel or motel.
- Residential care home.
- Rent-to-own contracts.
NOTE: Lockouts are illegal no matter what. The landlord cannot force a tenant to move out and instead needs to follow the proper legal procedures through eviction court.
