Understanding the Violence Against Women Act: How Can Survivors Enforce Their Rights?

Survivors can file a complaint with U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Office if they believe their rights have been violated. HUD will intake and investigate the complaint and, if necessary, take action to enforce VAWA.

  • Complaints can be filed online or over the phone at (800) 669-9777.
